MJC Youth Group

The MJC Youth Group provides Jewish friendship and fun for children in grades 2 through 6. Meeting monthly on Wednesday evenings, Youth Group features activities such as scavenger hunts, table games, and holiday-themed adventures. Participants enjoy dinner and after-activity dessert. Non-members are welcome, so children can bring friends or meet new friends!

MJC TEENS is an exciting program designed specifically for teens in 7th through 12th grades. At appealing, engaging monthly events, our teens celebrate holidays, provide community service, work on special chesed projects, and raise funds—bonding with one another in the process. One of the most crucial times to encourage students to continue as active members of the Jewish community is immediately post-b’nai mitzvah. MJC TEENS is the perfect casual follow-up to a Hebrew education, promoting active participation at the synagogue. 

Any Jewish teen in the community seeking to connect with like-minded peers will be welcomed into MJC TEENS—not as a student but as a leader. Program participants volunteer at and manage small-group activities at the MJC, making them role models for younger students. MJC TEENS encourages teamwork and group challenges for our teens to connect further with their own Jewish identities—in a program unique to the Merrick Jewish Centre.
